2007 Membership & Information on racing with the AMCA

Subs. £1.00 per week. Racing season only (March thru October).

Social Membership £5.00 (optional subs. 50p - goes towards presentation evening ticket)
Prospective members are asked to attend a couple of club nights prior to joining the club.This allows you to meet the existing members and vice-versa. It also gives you chance to see what the club is like.

2007 AMCA Licence costs:
'A' type AMCA Licence - total cost £125.50 including Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurances. Entry Fee £18
'A' type AMCA Licence under 16's - total cost £78.00 including Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurances. Entry Fee £18
'B' type AMCA Licence - total cost £45. Entry Fee £29. (under 16's entry fee is £24.50)
add £20 to this cost if you had an AMCA licence last year and didn't renew before 1st March.
One day licences are available from the AMCA office at a cost of £56. Limited to 6 per season.
Cost examples:
'A' licence Cost if riding 6 meetings £233.50, 8 meetings is £269.50, 12 meetings works out at £341.50 and it's £655.50 for 30.
'B' Licence Cost if riding 6 meetings £219.00, 8 meetings is £277.00, 12 would cost you £393.00 and 30 meetings would be £915.00
'B' Licence (under 16) Cost if riding 6 meetings £192.00, 8 meetings is £241.00, 12 would cost you £339.00 and 30 meetings would be £780.00
Therefore if you forsee that you will be racing more than 7 times during 2007 (12 times if under 16) - take out an 'A' licence.

All riders who wish to compete in AMCA Motocross events must be in possession of an AMCA Licence.
A rider who wishes to apply for an AMCA Competition Licence must be a paid up member of one AMCA affiliated
club (e.g. BHMCC) that organises motocross events.
Licence application forms are available from Affillitaed Clubs whose Secretary should sign to confirm the applicant is
a member of the Club. No rider can be a member of more than one affiliated Club for the purpose of competing
in Modern Motocross events.
All licences are renewable on January 31st each year, a late renewal fee is charged after 1st March (this only applies if
an AMCA licence was held the preceding year).
AGE LIMITS
Minimum age is 10 years old.(11 years old in 2008)
Riders aged 11 to 14 to ride in the Inter Junior Class [65cc minimum to 100cc maximum (or 125cc 4-stroke)]
Riders aged 11 to 14 may only be upgraded in exceptional circumstances and only then with parental/guardians written agreement
15 year olds may be included in the Inter Juniors, but will normally ride in the Junior Class, (some weekends
there is an under 18 125cc Junior class and an over 18 125cc Junior class) and will be upgraded using the normal system.
Sidecar drivers and passengers minimum age of 14 years.
CLASSES
Inter Juniors. Restricted to 11 to 14 year olds on 65cc to 100cc (125cc 4-stroke) machines.
(15 year olds may be included under exceptional circumstances)
125cc - Up to 126cc 2-stroke and 250cc 4-stroke. NEW 2008 rule: up to 150cc 2-stroke!(MX2)
250cc - 127cc to 265cc 2-strokes. NEW 2008 rule: class amalgamated into Open class (MX1)
750cc - 266cc upwards (2 and 4-strokes). NEW 2008 rule: 151cc upwards 2 stroke 266cc and above 4 stroke
Depending on the number of riders entered in each capacity class they may be combined forming an Unlimited cc race of Juniors, Seniors and Experts.
Ages 14 upwards. Minimum 100cc. Ages 13 to 16 are also limited to a maximum of 125cc (or 250cc 4-stroke).
On race-day there is usually a class for Inter Juniors, 125cc Juniors , Open Class Juniors, 125cc Seniors,
Open class Seniors, 125cc Experts and Open class Experts.
At some meetings the 125cc Junior class is split as under 18 year olds and over 18 year olds, again this will mainly depend
on the number of riders that are entered in each class and the decision is usually made by the hosting club.
